People may look at horse and/or dog racing as a field where the trial and error method works. In real sense, this doesn't work and can become costly and painful.
Having a plan means that you have structures in place and rules to follow. You have to understand which races produce the most consistent results, as well the systems and methods to use on them.
All this should be based on the understanding that races at times defy rational form analysis, leading to very inconsistent results.
