Humour Tipping the dealer

A blackjack player who has been playing and losing all evening is glaring at his hand. The dealer coughs.

"Sir, it is traditional to tip the dealer."

"Listen." said the disgruntled player, staring at his fifteen, "When I get bad cards, it's not the dealer's fault. When I get good cards, the dealer had nothing to do with it either, so why should I tip?"

The dealer said, "When you eat out, you tip the waiter, don't you?"

"Yes."

"He serves you food, I'm serving you cards. You should tip me."

'Sure, but the waiter gives me what I ask for. I'll take a six.'

It is traditional to tip the dealer but isn't it weird when the dealer expects you to tip him automatically? I'm unsure if I'd be willing to give a tip if I was losing all night. It even seems more natural to tip a waiter instead.

This is the jokes forum, but seriously I don't see the issue. You couldn't play the game without the dealer, and they make sure your chips are protected and your seat saved if you have to leave the table for any reason. Just because the house is taking your money doesn't mean you shouldn't tip the dealer. After all, he doesn't get to take his winnings home!
