Did you hear about the woman who won $10,000 on a scratch off ticket and after cashing in the $10,000 stop and got another ticket winning $1,000,000? How lucky was that?
For most of us that have never won over $20.00 on a scratch off, this just seems unbelievable.

No, I didn't hear about that. I wished I could win big like that. I have never won over $5 on a scratcher. I guess I'm just not a lucky person when it comes to scratchers. My ex-husband has won a couple of pretty big amounts but nothing like the woman above.

I wonder what she will win with the next ticket?! ;)
It must be absolutely heart stopping to get a win like this just once - but to do it twice she must have thought she was dreaming.

Well, I heard about it now SJ. Thanks for sharing..............NOT. :p

The most I ever won was 50 bucks, which doesn't even begin to cover the money I have spent on them over the years. Then along comes lady lucky pants and does what she does in 2 days or so.

GOOD FOR HER. :D

I would have been in complete shock! I bet she looked at the ticket over and over again to see if she was looking at it right! And then the second time she most have been blown away and looked at that one even more! I don't blame her husband for not believing her at first.

Can you imagine having that ticket in your pocket or in your bag? I’d be so anxious I’m sure I’d be checking it was still where it should be every 20 seconds!

Well, that's what we call double fortune and this seems very unbelievable for someone (like me) who's never won anything on a scratch off. What's discouraging is that her take-home was $417,012, after taxes. Isn't this callous, so-to-speak?

I know Lordcole! Isn't it just crazy how much the IRS gets out of the winnings!?! While that is still a heck of a lot of money, it's sad that she lost so much of it to taxes!

They seriously took that much off her in taxes?
I hadn’t even considered that before. It seems utterly obscene, doesn’t it? As you say, still a lot to keep, but a heck of a lot to be taken.

It is crazy that the IRS would take so much money out of the winnings. Just recently, the government in my country raised the amount of tax that's generated from lotteries and betting in general. I think everyone is starting to realize that there's a lot of circulation of money in the gambling industry.

It’s a shame but I suppose it’s inevitable. Where there’s money, there will at some point be a tax. And isn’t that just the way of life....?!
