Keno & Lottery Win the lottery.... and then sue?

A few months back in the U.K., the youngest ever lottery winner took to the national press saying that she was going to sue the people who ran the lottery.

She claimed that winning a million when she was just 17 had made her life ten times worse and so thought the minimum age should be 18.

Camelot (who run the lottery) defended themselves by claiming that all winners get a tonne of support to deal with their change in circumstances, but quite honestly is there a massive difference between a 17 year old and an 18 year old?

There is not really that much difference between 17 & 18, with the possible exception being that you could be legal in some states and countries. Looks like to me, being 17 would give you some advantages that would prohibit people from approaching you because of your age. I don't know but I would think so.

I don't think that there is that big of a difference in a 17 year old and an 18 year old. Sounds like this lady burned through all of her money and is just looking to get something back from the lottery commission. How did the lawsuit turn out?

I thought the exact same thing - that she blew the lot and then wanted someone to blame for her own stupidity.
That’s the problem with some people - they don’t want to be held accountable for their own actions.
