Hello poker fans, I just made a a poker interview with Nedelcho Karakolev a.k.a. NedBG - A professional poker player who recently finished 2nd in the SCOOP version of the Sunday Warm Up Tournament on Poker Stars for $85,000+.

I started with some general questions like how he started playing poker, what was he doing prior to it, how he improves his skills , what is the recipe to fight downswings and so on. Then we get to some questions regarding the specific tournament.

I am also planning to write a similar interview with another poker pro- Sunday Million runner up (for $109,000). He is also a top grinder with huge profit (well, not that huge like Doug Polk's) . So, if there are any questions you would like to know, please let me know in the thread.

I like his opening statement where he asserts that Poker isn't pure gambling but more of a game of skill. He also admits to having made mistakes earlier on in his career. This is an inspiring interview, especially considering the fact that he had previously worked as a casino dealer and as an engineer for a combined 4 years.

The kids that are joining gambling with a hope of quickly hitting the jackpot need to understand that it doesn't always happen that way. Hard work, persistence and resilience count a lot!

very well said, sir! Definitely agree with your statement, sadly there will be always folks who try to hit it big and run, no matter whether it is betting on poker, football, dogs, horses etc.

Of course, the difference is that betting on all those except poker hardly may turn into a long-term income even if you put a lot of efforts. I guess for new players is hard to realize that you can actually improve your skills, become better and it doesn't all depend on luck.
