Spending hours in a casino environment playing Blackjack looks like the kind of thing that a loner would love doing. How true is this statement? I have never played in a team but I understand how this can promote comradery.
I would tend to agree that for the full time advantage blackjack players are usually more lone wolfs than socialites. Team play by people who have a "real" life and play as an avocation is much more social.
As with most things in life, there are outliers on both sides.
There is this one guy who frequents our local and he is such a loner. He keeps to himself and hardly says a word. I agree with you @Stealth that there are outliers either way and that's what gives life a unique balance.
In a casino I find it much easier to focus on the game if I'm playing alone rather than in a group. Other people trying to talk through play can be a distraction.
I guess we all have different preferences when it comes to this, but personally, I would rather be alone than with people when I play. I just don't want the distraction and I always feel that I do better alone anyway.
I think that when it comes to gambling in general, the people who take it a lot more serious prefers to be alone. I personally prefer the lone wolf type of play.
