This is a program that MGM Resorts is going to roll out very soon. Possibly in time for the holiday season. In a nutshell, it is a new program casino's are going to start participating in that will have casino employee's actively promoting responsible gambling practices to their guests. Without being intrusive, they will be helpful to people they feel might be spending a little too much time and money somewhere in one night. There is more to it here:

Well, I laud this move but it will be interesting to see how these casino employees will handle this without being too intrusive. Just like the article highlights, this subject is bound to be a hard one to face especially because limits are (are at times) hard to set. How will they be able to tell apart a gambler who's had enough losses for a night?

You can't really, but you can track how much a person loses and train the employees to approach people when they have lost x amount of dollars. Set the limit there and not on how much that person has to lose. Just a general baseline number to go by that applies to everyone from a Reno construction worker to a Chinese real estate mogul. I don't know how else they could do it.

Personally I can't see this working. Sorry to be so negative!
But if they're trying to protect the people who have problems with gambling, well those people won't want to be told, or want advice, or even have it mentioned.

This will be a tough one. Approaching someone in a casino who is spending too much money? Most people would be embarrassed to be approached and may not go back to that casino. This would not be a good business practice for the casinos.
