General Gambling in Casinos and Public Health

How do you feel about the fact that everyone and their dog touches the slots etc., possibly passing diseases and colds and the like to you when you play? Do you think it is too much to ask for some hand sanitizer when you walk in the doors? What is your opinion?

Whereas I haven't used hand sanitizers before, I think you raise a good point, in as far as hygiene in public places is concerned especially when playing slots or any other casino game that involves sharing equipment. It would be much better if casinos took this up and carried out implementation.

I only thought of this because when I went on a cruise last year, there was a warning about a communicable disease when 2 or 3 people on the cruise came down with stomach flu (they probably just drank the water). They set up stations at the entrances to all the public areas and closed the casinos.

I am one of the player that carry hand sanitizer in my purse. There are too many people and too many germs on those machines. One of our casinos here have hand sanitizer on the way in and out of the playing area and I think that it is a good idea.

I have never considered carrying around a sanitizer while in the casino. Just out of curiousity (and this is a point that just crossed my mind), at what point can anyone contract a communicable disease? I think there may be a bit of concern if a player is playing while snacking but not caring to check on hygiene. Wouldn't it be easier if the casinos were compelled to ensure that the playing areas are hygienic?
