Blackjack Face-up Blackjack

Can anyone please explain to me the difference between face up blackjack and regular blackjack and which one has better odds for the player?

I think the main difference is that in face up blackjack the cards are dealt face up as opposed to when they are dealt face down in a pitch game, but I think that the difference is negligible in how much edge the player would get by seeing all the cards dealt before making a move.
