That looks like a lot of number crunching just for recreational play. When you're in the black.......leave. Especially when the last card you see after you realize that you're in the black......is a red card.

That's your sign.

Thanks for sharing that article. I found it very informative and helpful. I am currently learning how to play blackjack and I think that this site is going to come in handy in the future.

I think I'm reading up too much on Blackjack and I'm starting to suffer from analysis paralysis when I try to play. It's great to have all this information at hand but I think sometimes it's best just to go with your gut after a certain point.

I know how you feel, Orton. That's true of anything that you do in life. If you over analyze then you won't be able to take action when the time comes. My philosophy is Get Ready, Fire, Aim rather than spending your whole life trying to get it perfect.

Sometimes it's better to start with whatever knowledge or skill that you have at that moment and then tweak and improve your game as you go along. We all learn best by doing.

I totally agree with you Hartz. I think that when you get started it becomes easier to grasp and retain information pertaining to the game. Learning from theory only is really very limiting.

I would caution that while I agree learning from experience is very valuable, playing blackjack without an understanding of the theory can be very expensive.

It is a blend of theory and experience that produces desired results.
